Why this plate earns its place
These 165mm Gembrook side plates give smaller servings and accompaniments a grey setting with plenty of character. Steelite developed them with Off Grid Studio, using a fully vitrified clay body and a reactive glaze so each plate is different from the rest.
That variation creates a more individual, authentic feel than a completely uniform finish, while the manufacturer says the glaze provides extra protection against staining. The round plates are stackable, helping keep service pieces organised between sittings.
