Why this platter earns its place
The rectangular format (325×179 mm) is the working side-plate size — bread and butter, amuse-bouche, a garnish plate, or a small side of veg at a place setting without dominating the table footprint. Stoneware at this thickness (8.2 kg per 12) signals durability; the glazed surface resists staining from butter, oil and crumbs that accumulate during a full service. The coupe edge lifts slightly, which keeps plated items secure without spillage during hand-pass to the table.
The patterned glaze — Mediterranean-inspired organic marks — is integral to the kiln-fire. It won't fade, flake or wear away with repeated dishwashing. Crucially, the pattern hides dust, watermarks and minor scratches that would show plainly on a plain glaze, which matters when stacks of plates are being washed at pace in a high-turnover service. The pattern is also visually distinct, so a place-setting with Harvest side plates reads as intentional rather than generic.
At 325 mm long and packed 12 to a box, these stack efficiently in their natural profile without lids or separators. The rectangular format saves space on open shelving compared to round plates, which is practical for a tight plate-rack in a busy kitchen. Dishwasher safe after every service; no special handling.
