Why this plate earns its place
A 165mm round coupe plate sized for side plates, bread, or small accompaniments. The Stonecast Raw collection draws from raw materials and stripped-back design — each plate carries a hand-applied rustic edge band that reads as crafted. The coupe profile (rim angled inward) is mechanically stronger than a flat rim; direct stacking pressure is distributed across the angle rather than concentrated on the rim edge.
Porcelain is denser than earthenware and resists chipping under repeated washing. The semi-matte Vellum glaze survives passthrough cycles at commercial temperatures without dulling. Round geometry stacks efficiently — small coupe plates nest within larger plates, useful when plate storage is compact. At 165mm the plate suits bread service, side vegetables, or condiments without visual clutter on a three-plate cover.
The teal provides visual contrast. Minor wear on the hand-applied edge band reads as patina, and the rusticity of the finish is robust to visible service wear.
