Why this plate earns its place
Steelite's Nordic coupe plates take a classical approach to contemporary plating. The defining feature is the deep, gently curving rim—not a flat border but a sculptural element that frames the food while allowing it space to breathe. This rim creates visual breathing room around a composed dish and, critically, catches the eye of the diner before they focus on the food itself. For cuisine where colour, composition, and presentation are core to the dining experience, this rim becomes part of the design language.
The white ceramic is timeless and forgiving. It works equally well for vibrant modern cooking (where colours pop against white) and classic techniques (where the simplicity of the plate doesn't compete). The 280mm diameter is the standard dinner-plate size, equally at home with composed mains, plated vegetables, or shared dishes. At 28mm height, these are shallow plates for presentation-focused service.
The rim profile means these plates feel substantial but remain lightweight (approximately 0.22 kg each). They stack securely, and the ceramic is fully dishwasher safe, designed for the demands of commercial kitchens. This is crockery that looks as good in a Michelin kitchen as it does in a contemporary bistro—classic enough to coordinate with any table programme, distinctive enough to make a visual statement.
