THE WORKING VIEW

Why this plate earns its place

A 27 cm round plate with a soft coupe contour and vitrified china body designed for the realities of commercial catering: the plate stacks without chipping, survives 60+ daily dishwash cycles, and reads clean in any plating. The round profile works across all plating styles — composed mains, family service, or a design-forward presentation without committing to directional geometry.

Vitrified china holds heat adequately and won't craze under normal commercial washing, though rapid temperature shock (cold into hot oven, or reverse) is the risk point. The white glaze is stable, so restocking in six months will match existing stock without visible wear patterns.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

Vitrified china chips more than porcelain, but edge chips are usually clean. The Renoir profile is reinforced, so you'll get good life before attrition makes replacement economics sensible. A full set of 100 should yield 18–24 months in high-turnover catering.

Yes. The coupe profile interlocks stably. Stack them carefully in the pass to avoid stress on the rim — you can safely stack 30–40 plates. Don't stack bare on hard shelving; use a plate rack or a cloth mat underneath.

Commercial passthrough wash at 55–65 °C is fine. The risk is thermal shock: don't rinse a hot plate immediately in cold water, and don't go direct from cold storage into a 180 °C oven. Let the plate reach ambient temperature first.

When chipping is visible across more than 30% of the set, it's time to restock. Small rim chips are manageable for months, but chipping spreads across a service when glaze cracks start. Plan a two-quarter replacement cycle for 100 plates.

White glaze on vitrified china is stable. A fresh set ordered 12 months later will match existing stock — no visible drift. The manufacturer specification for white colouration doesn't change.

A 27 cm round is the international standard for plated mains. It's neither too large nor too small, giving you room for a 120 g protein and two vegetables without the plate dominating the table setting.
