THE WORKING VIEW

Why this plate earns its place

The 26cm Trevone is a dinner plate. It holds a plated course — sauce, protein, vegetables, and a clean rim for the eye. Vitrified stoneware is fired to a point where the body becomes non-porous; this gives it the durability of hardened ceramic without the brittleness of porcelain. The glaze resists crazing and colour-fading even under repeated +65 °C commercial dishwashing.

The Nordic styling is contemporary and unfussy. The hand-finished sky-blue glaze lifts a plate of simple, quality food. Each piece carries a touch of hand-application in the glaze, so your plated dishes are not served from industrial blanks. For high-volume service — banqueting, fine dining, or catering — this plate reads well on the table and survives turnover without needing replacement mid-season.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

No. Vitrified stoneware is fired hard and the glaze is stable through repeated +65 to +75 °C cycles. Crazing — the fine line network that appears in some ceramics — does not occur in Trevone.

The plate is designed to stack. A stack of 20–30 plates is normal in back-of-house storage without damage to the glaze or rim. The flat design and stacking-optimised shape mean plates sit neatly and do not rock or chip.

Yes. 26cm is the standard dinner-plate size across hospitality. It gives enough space for a plated main course with sauce, protein, and garnish without looking sparse or overcrowded.

Minor chips at the rim do not spread in vitrified stoneware. A chipped plate is cosmetically marked but remains food-safe and does not harbour bacteria. Replacement is available through Craven Cooling on 01792

Soup can be served on the Trevone 26cm if plated into a shallow bowl or cup, but the plate is optimised for dry plating — protein, vegetables, sauce, and garnish. For a soup-heavy service, a bowl-shaped piece will give better capacity and presentation.
