Why this plate earns its place
The 220 mm plate sits between a side plate and a full dinner plate — the workhorse for appetisers, desserts, and cheese courses in multi-course service. It is large enough to look generous without competing with the main course, and small enough to encourage courses to move efficiently through a busy service.
The crackled glaze is sealed beneath a protective underglaze, which means the pattern functions as design accent rather than surface wear. Super vitrified ceramic is the foundation — fired at higher temperature than standard pottery, it becomes harder and more resistant to the thermal shock and impact that wears out budget glazes. The decorated underglaze adds an extra protection layer, extending the life of the plate through hundreds of commercial wash cycles.
At 0.535 kg per plate, there is weight enough to convey quality in hand, but the coupe shape stacks tight, keeping storage footprint minimal. The 12-pack unit is standard for restaurants and hotels stocking a multi-course plate that rotates through appetiser and dessert service.
