Why this saucer earns its place
A double espresso needs the right vessel. These Barshine saucers are cut for a slightly larger cup than single-shot serviceware, but retain the 140mm diameter that sits comfortably in a guest's hand and looks proportional on a table. Tempered glass means the saucer is as durable as the espresso is quick—no chipping, no staining, no compromise through dishwashing cycles.
The geometry is deliberately art deco: clean lines, no fussy detail, but enough character that your coffee service doesn't look utilitarian. The pattern is applied to clear glass, so the saucer itself is transparent. This reads differently on a table than ceramic does—it's lighter, more contemporary, and the guest can see any latte or macchiato drip instantly. For a specialty coffee venue, that transparency is branding in itself.
Tempered glass is forged through thermal treatment that makes it four to five times harder than annealed glass. It won't absorb coffee oils or milk marks. A wipe with a dry cloth and it's pristine. Through a commercial dishwasher, it emerges unchanged. The thermal resistance means there's no stress from moving between room temperature and a 65 °C wash cycle. Twelve saucers stack to just under 23cm, leaving space on standard shelves. At 0.2 kg each, they're light enough for staff to manage effortlessly in a high-speed espresso bar.
