Why this cups & mug earns its place

Porcelain is the standard for espresso service: it holds heat without absorbing flavour, resists staining, and survives thousands of hot washing cycles without glaze degradation. At 9 cl — a true shot-sized serving — this cup is calibrated to the output of an espresso machine group head. It's compact enough to sit comfortably in the hand or on a demitasse saucer, and tall enough to hold crema without splashing.

The Superwhite finish is plain white and works with any coffee aesthetic, from minimalist roastery to formal service. Porcelain doesn't chip neatly; a significant thermal shock can produce internal cracks, but minor surface marks are cosmetic and part of normal wear. The simple cylindrical form means it stacks efficiently for storage and moves quickly through a passthrough dishwasher.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

9 cl (90 ml) is the international standard for a single shot of espresso. This cup is built to that standard, which means you're not underfilling or overfilling — just filling to the line of crema.

Yes. Porcelain has higher thermal density than thin ceramic, so it holds heat longer and more evenly. An espresso shot poured into this cup stays above drinking temperature (above 60 °C) for 5–7 minutes, which is ideal for espresso service where the drink goes immediately to the customer.

Yes. Porcelain handles commercial passthrough washing at high temperature. In very hard-water areas, mineral deposits can build up on white crockery — a weekly vinegar soak keeps the glaze bright.

No. This cup is designed for straight espresso. For cappuccino or flat white (which are typically 8–12 oz), use a larger size. Trying to fill this cup with a full coffee drink looks wrong and tastes cold.

Porcelain is durable under normal use. The main risk is thermal shock: putting a cold cup into boiling dishwater or pouring boiling water into a cold cup can cause internal stress cracks. Stacking too high or knocking against the group head can chip the rim. Minor surface marks are cosmetic and expected in a working café.

It stacks without nesting thanks to the simple cylindrical form. You can fit 40–50 cups in a tall stack on a shelf, but for working service, stacks of 15–20 are standard to prevent rim damage.
