Why this bowl earns its place
The 130 mm bowl is the workhorse for soup, sauce, and side portions. At 380 ml, it takes a generous soup serving or a shared appetiser without requiring the table space of a full dinner plate — two of these on the table feel lighter than one large bowl. Porcelain is non-porous when vitrified, so it won't absorb the oils and colours in stocks, curries, or acidic sauces. The rolled edge isn't decorative; it's a reinforced lip that resists chipping through years of stacking and dishwasher cycles.
The material is fully vitrified porcelain, fired hard throughout the body. That means no glaze crazing from temperature swings, no seeping stains, and no degradation from acidic or oily contents. Freezer-safe is useful if you're pre-chilling a dessert, chilling a sauce for service, or plating from a cold pass. The stack is stable and compact — twelve bowls take a footprint of roughly 200 × 320 × 365 mm, so two packs fit easily on a standard catering shelf. Each stack sits true; bowls won't tilt or nest during a high-speed wash cycle.
The rolled edge is the key durability feature. A sharp rim on a bowl chips easily in a rack or a busy passthrough; a rolled edge absorbs the knock and stays intact. After fifty dishwasher cycles, the rim reads sharp enough to present, and the white stays white because the porcelain body doesn't absorb service marks.
