Why this bowl earns its place
The 182 mm coupe bowl is the smaller half of Churchill's Raku offering. Coupe bowls have sloped walls and a slight lip, which means they're designed to stack without sliding and to sit stably on a table edge. At 182 mm diameter, this size holds roughly 300 ml when filled to the rim, though a typical soup or appetiser sits lower to avoid spilling during service.
Raku glazing is traditional porcelain work — the Jade Green is a soft, contemporary green with natural glaze variation from hand-dipping. It performs identically to plain white porcelain in the kitchen: dishwasher-safe, non-absorbent, and durable across thousands of wash cycles. Churchill's 5-year edge chip warranty acknowledges that porcelain edges are the wear point, and they've engineered to limit it.
These bowls work for dipping sauces, amuse-bouches, soup courses, or individual appetiser portions. The coupe shape is stable and stackable; the 182 mm sits comfortably as a soup course without dominating the table space. For venues running sharing menus or tapas service, smaller bowls let you offer more variety per table.
