THE WORKING VIEW

Why this bowl earns its place

The side bowl is a 12 cm companion piece for formal table settings — use it for vegetables, rice, dips, or any small side course. The Crackle glaze brings visual warmth to white porcelain and works well as a supporting item alongside larger plates and bowls. The coupe shape contains food while remaining shallow enough not to dominate the setting.

Vitrified porcelain is fired hard enough to withstand commercial dishwashing without degradation, chip resistance at the rim, and years of daily use. It's also practical: it stacks tightly for storage, moves fast through service, and the white finish stays true. For restaurants and hotels where every piece on the table contributes to the overall aesthetic, Crackle bowls are worth the investment.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

Roasted vegetables, grains, dipping sauces, olives, nuts, relishes — any small component that needs its own vessel without being a standalone course.

The Crackle range is coordinated, so yes — it pairs naturally with the 25 cm serving bowl or other matching crockery.

The coupe is shallow but has a rim that contains liquid. Use it for thick sauces or oil; very loose sauces are better in a deeper bowl.

That depends on your menu — if you serve one side per diner, one per cover. For higher-end fine dining where you plate components separately, you might use two or three side bowls per course.

Porcelain can hold temperature, but it's best reserved for plating and table service rather than holding heat in a pass oven. Transfer to a kitchen bowl if you're holding components before plating.

Actually, the reverse — side bowls without handles stack more tightly than handled bowls. These are more compact for storage and prep.
