Why this plastic mixing bowl earns its place
This is the largest in the Schneider range — designed for industrial bakeries and dairies where a single batch might serve twenty or more services. At 13 litres, it holds a full mixing cycle of bread dough, bulk pastry cream, cheese curd, or dairy filling without splitting work. The 400 mm diameter still fits most prep surfaces and rolls on its base, important when a full bowl weighs 13 kg wet. Polypropylene resists the staining that plagues cheaper plastics: turmeric, beetroot, and cocoa stay lighter, longer.
Polypropylene survives the punishing reality of industrial prep: repeated 60°C dishwasher cycles, frozen batches stored overnight, and violent temperature swings without crazing, warping, or becoming brittle. Dishwasher-safe and freezer-safe mean you can bulk-batch dairy or ferment dough inside, then run it straight through a commercial pass-through wash. The 180 mm height (deep for its diameter) keeps batter low and stable during vigorous mixing, and the wide footprint resists tipping even when a baker is folding dough with force. At 500 grams, the bowl itself is light enough to handle, though a full load demands two hands.
Multiple sizes in the Schneider range nest for storage, cutting footprint in a facility where space is money. The material won't absorb odours or flavours across multiple batches — rotating the bowl through different jobs leaves no ghost tastes. The trade-off is absolute: polypropylene softens above 80°C, so any hot mixing or steam heating must happen elsewhere.
