New counters for
an old favourite.

A working butcher’s shop needed two large serve-over counters delivered, built and trading — with the shop kept running throughout.

The job

Barratts Fine Meats, Fontygary Road, Rhoose — a working butcher’s shop needing a new refrigerated display package. Craven Cooling was appointed to supply and install two Blizzard Sigma fresh-meat serve-over counters, giving the shop a combined 4.5 metres of refrigerated display space across the front of the store.

Craven Cooling managed the delivery, movement, positioning and assembly of both cabinets, leaving the customer with a complete display solution ready for use.

The challenge

Two large serve-over counters, one working shop, a tight window to get it done. Everything had to go right first time.

A tight window

The work needed to be completed within a tight installation window, keeping disruption to the butcher’s normal trading to a minimum.

Big cabinets, small entrance

Both counters were large pieces of equipment that had to be carefully moved through the shop entrance, then positioned accurately and built up on site.

Ours alone to manage

With no other contractors involved, Craven Cooling carried the complete installation from the equipment arriving on site to the counters being ready for the customer.

The solution

Our engineers managed the unloading, then carefully manoeuvred the 2m and 2.5m Blizzard Sigma cabinets through the shop entrance. Once inside, the counters were moved into their final positions and assembled on site — around the shop’s own butchers still at work.

The 2m and 2.5m Blizzard Sigma counters together gave Barratts a large run of refrigerated merchandising space, letting the shop present a wider range of meat clearly across the front of the store.
